7o2t21854 November, Damansara – YB Dato’ Sri Azalina Othman Said, Menteri Pelancongan Malaysia, telah hadir ke Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama bagi melancarkan satu lagi kempen pengiklanan Zoom! Malaysia.

Dear YB Dato’ Sri Azalina Othman Said,

Please forgive my writing in English, but I’m afraid my Bahasa Malaysia is non-existent.

You may well have covered this question already in previous posts, so apologies for the overlap.

I was wondering if you felt that the time has come for the ‘Malaysia, Truly Asia’ campaign to be replaced with something new.

Yes, it was been a tremendously successful campaign over the years. It has helped make Malaysia the most visited country in Southeast Asia, and by some margin.

However, tourism are now falling. Even though the global economic crisis is largely the cause of this slump, do you feel that a change in marketing strategy could help boost numbers again?

If so, how would you change it? I heard a rumour that a campaign featuring Brad Pitt was on the cards at one stage, but that has now been shelved.

Could you give an indication as to how Malaysia wants to present itself differently to the world in the future? And in English, if you wouldn’t mind.

    Yours respectfully,
    Robin Hicks

    Dear Minister,
Sorry for posting my feedback here… cause I could not locate the feedback or contact us.

Our family skip Malaysia this year and went to Indonesia & Hong Kong for our family holiday.

It was due to our daughter passport (when last visit), your Immigration Officer wrote “CHANGE PHOTO” – 23OCT2008 by J13 /507. Her Passport expire May 2014. It is not wise to change her passport for additional S$70. But she could easily travel to Indonesia, Hong Kong,.. no problem. Their Immigration Officer never write anything on her passport.

Just wonder, a small girl at 11 years old with family, why ONLY Malaysia Immigration Officer so hard working to add “Change Photo”… what does it benefit Malaysia Toursim?

Due to our Daughter could not enter, (cost not worth changing Passort, not just change Photo) our family decided to skip Malaysia for the next few years except really need then change the passport. Is it wise for the Immigration Offer to do so with no benefit to Malaysia?

    Warm Regards
    Cheong Fook Onn & family.
